See Martin’s latest work on his website: www.martincheek.co.uk Mosaic Courses With Martin Cheek All courses run from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm with a wonderful buffet lunch, morning and afternoon tea and coffee included in the course fee. Please inform us of any individual dietary requirements. The studio is large, light and airy with a view of the large garden facing south towards the sea. The venue is our private studio which always carries an extensive stock and range of numerous mosaic materials. You are always welcome to bring your own materials. To ensure the students receive lots of individual attention and help numbers are strictly limited. Do remember that making mosaics in a detailed thorough way, is very time consuming but is also a very rewarding process that will result in an end product that will give you lasting pleasure. In other words: the courses are not just so much about what you finish but more importantly what you learn, which will equip you to continue making mosaics on your own, long after you have finished this course! We run three kinds of course: beginners, advanced and by popular demand, a masterclass, new to 2007. The courses are designed to suit the various demands of the course participants. However, we are always happy to look at your portfolio, teach you how to set in a mosaic table top or how to make a paving slab!  Martin will teach direct and indirect mosaic methods using a variety of materials including glass and ceramic tesserae. Grouting techniques will also be covered. During the course you will design and make a mosaic approximately 1 sq ft in area and be equipped to go home and tackle more and larger projects. Tuition and individual attention will be friendly and constructive, and a number of people return to Martin's courses due to the relaxed and inspiring atmosphere. Both beginners and experienced mosaicists are welcome in the exciting venue of Flint House.
