Still Life Painting With Margaret Foreman RBA All courses run from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm with a wonderful buffet lunch, morning and afternoon tea and coffee included in the course fee. Please inform us of any individual dietary requirements. Flint House is placed on the sea edge and the studio is large, light and airy. To ensure the students receive lots of individual attention and help, numbers are strictly limited. The still life artist Margaret Foreman RBA has been a professional painter for twenty five years, she was academically trained at Goldsmith’s College Of Art for four years and as a post graduate student at the Royal Academy for three years. In 1980 Margaret won the BP National Portrait Gallery Award. Margaret’s portraits are beautifully colourful with a wonderful sense of three dimensional pictorial space. Over the years Margaret has also painted many still life paintings. This two day course provides a great foundation for painting still life. Still Life painting is contemplative and quiet and gives the artist the chance to observe in great detail the subject. Margaret will take you through the creative process one step at a time. Margaret will begin by giving a brief introductory, informal talk about still life and will include examples from her own portfolio. Margaret will teach her particular method of still life painting, but will pay attention to the basic skills required to capture the atmosphere of the subject. The first day will be spent drawing the still life, using pencils, coloured pencils and wash. The second day will be spent painting the same subject in oil, acrylic or watercolour. Tuition and individual attention will be friendly, and constructive, and a number of people return to Margaret’s courses due to the relaxed and inspiring atmosphere. Both beginners and experienced artists are welcome in the exciting venue of Flint House. Price: £150.00 (Euro;225.00). Deposit of £50 (Euro;75.00) to be paid on booking. Materials: Please bring your own artists materials. Margaret will be happy to provide some of her own materials to supplement your own if necessary. |
